The .416 Rigby or 10.6 x 74mm was created by John Rigby and Company in 1911. Intended as a big game round. The cartridge case is one of the largest ever designed for bolt action rifles making a cartridge with good performance without creating an excessive chamber pressure. This was to prevent the habit of high pressure cordite filled cartridges from over expanding thus preventing extraction, an important consideration for the big game hunter.
Cufflink created from recycled polished brass case head (rim, extractor groove and portion of cartridge body) of the .416 Rigby round. Cufflink measuring 14.99mm diameter by 3mm depth set on gold plated solid arm (34mm overall length).
