Description

The .30-06 Springfield or 7.62 x 63mm was developed in 1906 for the US military. Its name takes the .30 from the calibre and the 06 from the year of its introduction. It was phased out in favour of the 7.62 x 51 in the early 1970’s. It is still the most popular sporting round in the US. The greater cartridge capacity allows for much more powerful loadings if desired which makes it a very flexible choice of cartridge sitting at the edge of acceptable recoil levels (20ft/lbs).

Cufflink created from ass case head (rim, extractor groove and portion of cartridge body) of the .30-06 Springfield round. Cufflink measuring 12mm diameter by 3mm depth set on gold plated solid arm (34mm overall length).
