Description
The .50 BMG (Browning Machine Gun) round or 12.7 x 99mm NATO round entered service in 1921 and was intended as an anti aircraft round. Based on a scaled up 30-06 round it is now used as a heavy machine gun round as well as a long range sniper round (including confirmed hits at ranges out to 2430m). Using a 700 grain bullet it can produce around 14,000 foot pounds of energy.
Cufflink created from the recycled polished brass case head (rim and extractor groove) of the .50 BMG round. Cufflink measuring 20.4mm diameter by 3mm depth set on gold plated solid arm (24mm overall length).
